Volleyball Recap: Southlake Carroll's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Keller typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Southlake Carroll proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Indians. The win was familiar territory for the Dragons, who have now won three matches in a row.

Southlake Carroll walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Southlake Carroll found their leader in freshman Mariel Elizondo, who had 21 assists and ten digs.

Keller's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Scheiden, who had 14 digs and four assists. Scheiden has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carley Ward, who had 13 digs.

Southlake Carroll's win bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Keller, their loss ended a 13-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-5.

Southlake Carroll has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against V.R. Eaton on the 14th. As for Keller, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Byron Nelson on the 14th.
