Basketball Recap: East Lee County Jaguars vs. Oasis Sharks
East Lee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oasis Sharks. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Sharks are ranked 233rd).
Leading Oasis to victory were Tessa Bexfield and Brynn Stambaugh. Bexfield posted 28 points and six rebounds, while Stambaugh had 29 points and eight assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bexfield has scored at least a third of Oasis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelynn Jakubowski, who earned six points and six rebounds.
