Florien is 9-0 against Pitkin since November of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Florien Blackcats will look to defend their home court against the Pitkin Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Florien will be strutting in after a win while Pitkin will be coming in after a loss.

Florien will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points on Monday, then bounced right back against Converse on Tuesday. Florien sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 victory over Converse. Given the Blackcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Wildcats are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pitkin unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 63-50 to Anacoco.

Florien's win bumped their record up to 19-12-1. As for Pitkin, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-15.
