Basketball Recap: Walton Comes Up Short

Walton's game on Tuesday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 49-39 to the Etowah Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Eagles are ranked 31st).

Etowah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caitlyn Garcia led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to ten boards and six assists. Garcia has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Taylor Wills was another key player, posting nine points.

Walton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Etowah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.

As of now, neither Walton nor Etowah have any future games scheduled.
