Baseball Game Preview: Decatur Red Raiders vs. Madison County Tigers

The Decatur Red Raiders will take on the Madison County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Decatur hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

On Saturday, Decatur came up short against East Limestone and fell 7-2. That's two games in a row now that the Red Raiders have lost by exactly five runs.

Decatur saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harris Penley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Madison County entered their contest against Athens on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 7-1.

Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Decatur couldn't quite finish off Madison County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
