Softball Recap: Superior Beats Menomonie for Their Third Straight Win

Superior entered their tilt with Menomonie on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Mustangs. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Arianna Robillard made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Robillard was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Paige 'Peeps' Johnson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Matteline Schilling was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Superior kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Superior's record now sits at 7-4. As for Menomonie, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Coming up, Superior will take on Rice Lake in a tournament on Saturday. As for Menomonie, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Eau Claire North at 5:00 p.m.
