Softball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Christian Academy extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-5 in the process. They came up short against the Portland Christian Eagles, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 on Saturday.

As for Portland Christian, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-11. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Portland Christian's part, Elisa Hidrogo was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Hidrogo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Bragg, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Coincidentally, Cornerstone Christian Academy and Portland Christian will both be playing Burgin the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
