Baseball Recap: Ames Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ames took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Ankeny, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Little Cyclones skirted past the Hawks 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for the Little Cyclones as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The win was the third in a row for Ames, bringing their record up to 12-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Ankeny, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ames beat Ankeny by a score of 8-4 later that day.
