Volleyball Game Preview: Sturgis Brown Scoopers vs. Brandon Valley Lynx

Sturgis Brown is 0-10 against Brandon Valley since October of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Scoopers will face off against the Lynx at 4:00 p.m.

Sturgis Brown came up short against Rapid City Christian on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Sturgis Brown was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-12, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Brandon Valley faced Washington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Lynx sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Warriors. The game was the first time the Lynx have beaten the Warriors on their court since August 22, 2017.

Brandon Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Washington into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14.

Sturgis Brown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Brandon Valley, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sturgis Brown couldn't quite get it done against Brandon Valley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Scoopers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
