Recap: Hillcrest Trojans vs. La Sierra Eagles
The Hillcrest Trojans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 49-6 victory over La Sierra. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hillcrest also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Hillcrest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alfredo Vences out in front who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Hillcrest also got help from Nicholas Shaw who showed off his sure hands for 116 receiving yards.
Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for La Sierra, their loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will face off against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arlington is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for La Sierra, they will head out on the road to face off against Patriot at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Patriot has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
