Basketball Game Preview: Andover Central Jaguars vs. Newton Railroaders

The Andover Central Jaguars will face off against the Newton Railroaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Andover Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Andover Central duked it out withGoddard on Tuesday. Andover Central walked away with a 52-43 victory over Goddard. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Lions are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Andover Central had a senior duo take command as Brody DeGarmo went 8 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds and Jayden Brown went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DeGarmo has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Newton lost to Andover at home by a 65-48 margin on Tuesday. The Railroaders haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Andover Central's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
