Basketball Recap: Church Point Finds Playoff Glory Versus Berwick

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Church Point walked away with it. They came out on top against the Berwick Panthers by a score of 38-29 on Thursday.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Azyria Garrison, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 18 boards. What's more, Garrison racked up seven blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Bosman, who posted eight points along with 15 rebounds and three steals.

Church Point pushed their record up to 13-18 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points over those games. As for Berwick, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-11 record this season.

Church Point will face off against Pine on Monday. One thing working in Pine's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. Berwick does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
