Baseball Recap: Boca Ciega Comes Up Short

Boca Ciega lost against Countryside back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Boca Ciega fell 7-2 to Countryside. The Pirates just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Boca Ciega saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Doughty, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kemon Ford also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Boca Ciega's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Countryside, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boca Ciega will venture away from home to challenge Manatee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manatee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Boca Ciega's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Countryside, they are taking a road trip to square off against Largo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Countryside's pitchers better be ready for this one: Largo has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
