Basketball Recap: Burke Skates Past North Charleston with Ease

Burke won the last time they faced North Charleston and things went their way on Saturday too. The Burke Bulldogs blew past the North Charleston Cougars 57-19. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Cougars are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burke is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for North Charleston, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Burke will welcome St. John's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Charleston, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the North Charleston Cougars face off against the West Ashley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
