Clinton is 9-0-1 against East Duplin since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dark Horses are taking a road trip to face off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Clinton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.4 goals per game this season.

Clinton's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past South Lenoir 9-0. Given Clinton's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 35th, while South Lenoir are ranked 315th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, East Duplin unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. Neither they nor Spring Creek could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept East Duplin happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 17th.

Clinton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three matchups. East Duplin's draw gives them a new season record of 8-5-2.

Clinton took their win against East Duplin in their previous matchup back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. In that match, the Dark Horses amassed a halftime lead of 6-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
