Basketball Game Preview: Abernathy Antelopes vs. Panhandle Panthers

The Abernathy Antelopes will take on the Panhandle Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Abernathy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They claimed a resounding 77-41 victory over Hale Center. The Antelopes are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Panhandle meant business on Monday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Lynx squad that has allowed just 28.77 points per contest. Panhandle blew past Spearman, posting a 67-25 win. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Panhandle's victory bumped their record up to 29-3. As for Abernathy, their win bumped their record up to 26-8.

Abernathy ended up a good deal behind Panhandle in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, losing 45-31. Can Abernathy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
