Baseball Recap: Whitley County Takes a Loss

Whitley County entered their matchup against Tates Creek on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Colonels fell just short of the Commodores by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Colonels' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Kip Allen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk).

Whitley County's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Tates Creek, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitley County will host Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tates Creek, they will face off against Boone County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
