Basketball Recap: Gabby Sutcliffe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Foard over East Lincoln

Foard lost against East Lincoln two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Foard Tigers took a hard 56-37 fall against the East Lincoln Mustangs.

Foard lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gabby Sutcliffe, who posted six points and five rebounds. Macie Penland was another key player, putting up three points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

East Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lane Pethel, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Pethel is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taniyah Thomas, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 17 points and six steals.

Foard's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for East Lincoln, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Foard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Lincoln, they will take on North Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 24 games.
