Softball Recap: Susquehanna Sabers vs. Blue Ridge Raiders

Susquehanna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blue Ridge Raiders. Even if the Sabers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meghan Perry was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Marley Smith, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Susquehanna's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Blue Ridge, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Blue Ridge will head out to square off against Elk Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Susquehanna will be paying especially close attention to the Raiders' game: after the Raiders faces off against Lackawanna Trail, they'll take on Susquehanna again at 9:30 a.m. on May 3.
