Volleyball Recap: Denver Christian Comes Up Short at Home Against Colorado Academy + How To Watch

Denver Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Colorado Academy Mustangs on Thursday. The Thunder haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Colorado Academy scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Natalie Bohannon paced Denver Christian's offense, picking up 12 kills. Bohannon got some help from Hadley Pellegrino and her 12 assists. Breegan Austin controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Asha Wagner, who had 12 digs and two assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Denver Christian has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Windsor Charter Academy on the 23rd. As for Colorado Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Arapahoe on the 23rd.
