Basketball Recap: Del Norte Comes Up Short

Del Norte suffered their closest loss since November 29th on Friday. They fell just short of the Victory Christian Academy Knights by a score of 65-62. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Victory Christian Academy to victory were Isaiah Owens and Angel Ochoa. Owens went 9 for 12 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds, while Ochoa went 8 of 13 on his way to 24 points and five boards. The contest was Ochoa's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Fernandez, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Del Norte's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Victory Christian Academy, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Del Norte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-52 win against Oakwood on the 28th. As for Victory Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-71 loss against Loyola on the 27th.
