Softball Game Preview: Pacifica Mariners vs. Millikan Rams

The Pacifica Mariners will take on the Millikan Rams in a tournament on Friday. Pacifica's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Millikan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pacifica's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Agoura.

Ellena Ediss looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Leyla Ayres was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Mattea Stern also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Millikan waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Huskies.

Pacifica's record is now 5-1. As for Millikan, their record is now 4-1.

Pacifica beat Millikan 5-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pacifica since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
