Basketball Recap: Oakwood Sets Scoring Season-High Against Chrisman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakwood). They breezed by the Chrisman Cardinals to the tune of 82-54 on Wednesday. The Comets pushed the score to 80-47 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals cut but never quite recovered from.

Chrisman lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Statler Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Mitchell has posted since back in November of 2024. Dylan Lucas was another key player, putting up 12 points.

The win got Oakwood back to even at 11-11. As for Chrisman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.

Oakwood has already played their next game, a 70-64 victory against Armstrong on the 25th. Chrisman has also already played their next match (against Cissna Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
