Baseball Recap: New Bern Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

New Bern and Cardinal Gibbons squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but New Bern had to settle for second. They lost 10-0 to the Crusaders. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bears haven't been shut out since back in March.

New Bern dropped their record down to 11-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cardinal Gibbons, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-6.

New Bern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will square off against Wake Forest on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
