Softball Recap: Second Baptist Comes Up Short

The matchup between Second Baptist and Kinkaid on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles fell 16-12 to the Falcons. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Second Baptist got a massive performance out of Lillian Vaughn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Vaughn also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Elizabeth Newhouse was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Second Baptist now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Kinkaid, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Second Baptist is taking a road trip to challenge Rosehill Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kinkaid, they will host Fort Bend Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
