Baseball Game Preview: Exeter Tigers vs. Wheaton Bulldogs

Exeter is 8-2 against Wheaton since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Exeter has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Exeter is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Purdy, falling 12-5.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Wheaton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bradleyville on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won five games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Exeter now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Wheaton, their win bumped their record up to 5-10-1.

Exeter skirted past Wheaton 9-8 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
