Woodland Regional put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Oxford Wolverines a 12-0 shutout. Give the Hawks' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Ella VanAlstyne was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May.

In other batting news, Julia Rowley and Kate Lisowski did most of the damage at the plate: Rowley went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Lisowski got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ayla DeCrescenzo, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Woodland Regional's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-0. As for Oxford, they moved to 15-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
