Softball Recap: Nova Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hollywood Hills last Friday, Nova came back down to earth. The Titans came up short against the Chaminade-Madonna Lions on Wednesday, falling 16-6. The Titans have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Ariana Figueroa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rehana Pierre, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Nova now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9.

Nova wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-4 win against Plantation on the 10th. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they will take on Stoneman Douglas at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
