Wheatland-Grinnell waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Hill City Ringnecks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunderhawks also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2018.
Wheatland-Grinnell easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-16.
Natalie Bixenman paced Wheatland-Grinnell's offense, picking up eight kills. Bixenman got some help from Evangeline Godek and her 21 assists.
Wheatland-Grinnell's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Hill City, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
Wheatland-Grinnell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Logan/Palco on the 20th. As for Hill City, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against St. John's/Tipton Catholic on the 20th.
