Softball Recap: Luray Comes Up Short

Luray fell victim to Clarke County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Madison Eavey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered 12 runs (all of which were unearned) on 13 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Luray has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Clarke County, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Coincidentally, Luray and Clarke County will both be playing Strasburg the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
