Recap: Central Valley Warriors vs. Union Area Scotties
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Central Valley Warriors ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 win over Union Area.
Several Scotties players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Stanley, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds. The match was Stanley's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Blakely, who scored 16 points.
Central Valley's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Union Area, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beaver at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Union Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Blackhawk at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
