Softball Game Preview: Basile Bearcats vs. Lake Arthur Tigers

The Basile Bearcats will start their season against the Lake Arthur Tigers. First pitch is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

After dropping their season opener at home, Basile is headed out to face a Tigers team ready to give their home crowd a win. Lake Arthur fell 14-10 to Port Barre last Thursday. The Tigers have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lake Arthur's loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for Basile, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (10-14), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

Basile suffered a grim 14-5 defeat to Lake Arthur in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Basile avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
