Football Game Preview: Dallastown Wildcats vs. Spring Grove Rockets

Dallastown is 8-2 against Spring Grove since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Dallastown will be strutting in after a victory while Spring Grove will be coming in after a loss.

Dallastown's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They managed a 6-0 win over Dover. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Dallastown's defense made their presence known, laying out Caden Hake five times. The heavy lifting was done by Jadyn Arias and Matthew Ratchford, who racked up four sacks between them. Ratchford also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.

Meanwhile, Spring Grove didn't have quite enough to beat William Penn on Friday and fell 42-39.

Dallastown will need to focus on slowing down Jordan Eisenhart, one of several Spring Grove players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Eisenhart was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 58 yards. Davis Baum was another key player, throwing for 247 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes.

Spring Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Dallastown, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Dallastown against Spring Grove in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
