Baseball Game Preview: Scio Loggers vs. Amity Warriors

For the second straight game, Scio will face off against Amity. The Loggers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m.

Scio is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Amity with a sharp 9-2 victory on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 12, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Hunter Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Haydin Tibbs and Carter Flack did most of the damage at the plate: Tibbs went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Flack went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Flack a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Siegmund, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Scio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Scio's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-12. As for Amity, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
