Softball Recap: Johnstown Drops Season-High Score on Middleburgh

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johnstown). They were the clear victors by a 23-5 margin over the Middleburgh Knights on Monday. With that victory, the Sir Bills brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Johnstown let Maddie Feehan and Emma Valik run wild. Feehan went 3-for-4 with eight stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Valik went 3-for-5 with six stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Valik has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Julianna Kohot, who went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Johnstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Johnstown's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Middleburgh, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
