Basketball Game Preview: Westmoreland Eagles vs. Colonial Beach Drifters

Westmoreland is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Colonial Beach is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Westmoreland Eagles will host the Colonial Beach Drifters at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Westmoreland will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Essex, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Westmoreland came out on top against Essex by a score of 47-35 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Colonial Beach didn't have too much trouble with Lancaster on Tuesday as they won 42-28.

Colonial Beach's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Westmoreland, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-1.

Westmoreland won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2024, slipping by Colonial Beach 44-43. Will Westmoreland repeat their success, or does Colonial Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
