Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Creek). They put the hurt on the Kenwood Knights with a sharp 15-4 win on Tuesday. The Coyote haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Paityn Swift made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Ariyana Lewis was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Simons, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
West Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
West Creek's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for Kenwood, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.
