Baseball Recap: Alden-Hebron Has No Trouble Against Christian Liberty

Alden-Hebron won against Christian Liberty last Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Green Giants blew past the Chargers 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Green Giants, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Hoyt Miles made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Christian Nunez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Aldo Carreno was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Alden-Hebron has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Christian Liberty, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Alden-Hebron will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Hiawatha at 11:00 a.m. As for Christian Liberty, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westminster Christian at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
