Soccer Game Preview: Colonial Forge vs. Massaponax

The Colonial Forge Eagles will square off against the Massaponax Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Colonial Forge has four straight wins, Massaponax has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Friday, Colonial Forge made easy work of Stafford and carried off a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Colonial Forge, who have now won six matches by five goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Massaponax took on Mountain View on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Massaponax can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Mountain View are ranked 88th).

Colonial Forge's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Massaponax, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Colonial Forge took their victory against Massaponax when the teams last played on April 4th by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
