Baseball Recap: Gila Bend Has No Trouble Against Tohono O'odham

Gila Bend never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Tohono O'Odham Eagles with a sharp 20-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gila Monsters.

Easton Fernandez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Crash Davis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Angel Rubalcava, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Gila Bend now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tohono O'Odham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
