King's Fork was handed a seven-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Southampton Indians 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Josh Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, King's Fork saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Jones, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That run marked the first that Jones has scored this season. Another was Jason Lemaster, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

King's Fork moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Southampton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, King's Fork will face off against Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Hurricanes at the right time seeing as the Hurricanes are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Southampton, they will challenge Deep Creek at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.6 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
