Basketball Game Preview: Dwight Trojans vs. Putnam County Panthers

The Dwight Trojans will challenge the Putnam County Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Monday, Dwight ended up a good deal behind Marquette and lost 55-38. The Trojans were down 44-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Putnam County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The game between them and St. Bede didn't end well, with Putnam County falling 45-30. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Bruins are ranked 183rd).

Dwight's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Putnam County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-20.

Everything went Dwight's way against Putnam County in their previous meeting on Wednesday, as Dwight made off with a 55-29 win. Does Dwight have another victory up their sleeve, or will Putnam County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
