Basketball Recap: Weed Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Maddox Mize and Logan Bowles

It was a proper cat-fight when Weed took on University Prep on Saturday. The Weed Cougars took a 72-54 bruising from the University Prep Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Weed's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Logan Bowles, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, and Maddox Mize, who posted 13 points. Jaxon King was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight rebounds.

Weed's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for University Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Weed wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-56 victory against St. Mary's on the 9th. As for University Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-69 win against Foothill on the 10th.
