Baseball Preview: North Jackson Chiefs vs. Plainview Bears
The North Jackson Chiefs will venture away from home to challenge the Plainview Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, North Jackson turned things around against Geraldine on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chiefs have posted against the Bulldogs since February 20, 2021.

Brodie Carraway made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drew Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Lucas Rowe also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
