Eastern had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lewis Cass Kings. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Kings, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Eastern was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-14.

Their offense was headlined by Mackenzie Appleton and Josie Odle, who picked up 16 kills apiece. They got some help from Savannah Smith and her 20 assists. Finally, Odle was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Lewis Cass, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Eastern has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Clinton Prairie on the 30th. As for Lewis Cass, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Wabash on the 2nd.
