Recap: Streator Bulldogs vs. Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts
This season hasn't been kind to the Streator Bulldogs, who are still winless after their 15th game. They took a 30-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Illinois Valley Central. While losing is never fun, Streator can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 681st, while Illinois Valley Central is ranked 328th).
Streator's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mina James, who scored four points, and Leah Krohe who scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krohe has scored all season.
Streator's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Illinois Valley Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Streator is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Ottawa at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. Illinois Valley Central will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bureau Valley at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
