Softball Recap: Bay Path RVT Takes a Loss

Bay Path RVT was the 9-6 winner over Notre Dame Academy when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Minutemen lost 8-2 to the Rebels on Wednesday. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Selena Piehl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bay Path RVT saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miranda Linde, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Linde has snagged this season.

The defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 2-4. As for Notre Dame Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Bay Path RVT will venture away from home to face off against Hopedale at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will welcome St. Paul at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
