Softball Recap: Desert Ridge Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Desert Ridge's offense. They came up short against the Xavier College Prep Gators on Wednesday, falling 11-0. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Gators when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Desert Ridge and nudges their season record down to 16-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 15-9 Highland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.7% over those games). As for Xavier College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5-3 record this season.

Desert Ridge is taking a road trip to challenge Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Xavier College Prep, they will welcome Sunnyslope at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
