Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Madeline Hales and Kayla Phan Leads Trabuco Hills over University

Trabuco Hills owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. Everything went their way against the University Trojans as they made off with a 26-0 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won three matches by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Trabuco Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Madeline Hales and Kayla Phan. Hales got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Trabuco Hills and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 points in those games. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trabuco Hills will square off against El Modena at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 11.7, the Vanguards 11.6) so any points scored will be well earned. As for University, they will face off against Sage Hill at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lightning's defense has only allowed 7.5 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
