Basketball Recap: Bunn's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Bunn extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Franklinton Red Rams 76-73. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since December 11, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bunn to victory, but perhaps none more so than DJ Smith, who went 9-for-19 to rack up 23 points and six steals. Those 23 points gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Bailey, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

As for Franklinton, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (70), they still had to take the loss.

Several Red Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zymir Lipscomb, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Darius Slankard, who earned nine points.

Bunn has already played their next game, a 57-39 loss against Wake Forest on the 6th. As for Franklinton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-53 victory against Person on the 10th.
